Ngakma Nor’dzin Pamo & Ngakpa ’ö-Dzin Tridral

Ngakma Nor’dzin Pamo and Ngakpa ’ö-Dzin Tridral have been teaching as Lamas since 1993. They have been disciples of Ngak’chang Rinpoche and Khandro Déchen since 1982. Ngakma Nor’dzin was the first of their students to be ordained, in 1988. Ngakpa ’ö-Dzin took ordination shortly afterwards in 1991.

Ngakma Nor’dzin & Ngakpa ’ö-Dzin are known for the natural down-to-earth realism of their presentation – and their wealth of experience in helping people with everyday problems, demonstrating how stresses of ordinary life are fuel for Tantric practice. They offer the valuable perspective of parents who have successfully raised a family while continuing their own practice and establishing a sangha.

Ngakma Nor’dzin Pamo

Ngakma Nor’dzin has been writing on Buddhism since the early 1990s. Some of her pieces are in the Articles section of this site.

Her book Relaxing into Meditation teaches relaxation and breathing exercises as preparation for meditation, and then leads into simple meditation methods that can reduce stress, improve relationships, and enhance the experience of life generally. Spacious Passion offers a Tantric perspective on the Four Thoughts that Turn the Mind to Practice.

Ngakma Nor’dzin is a qualified homeopath and practices a branch of Tibetan medicine. Her interest stems from her previous rebirth, Ngakpa Dawa Ngödrüp, a herbalist at the Aro Gar yogic encampment in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century in Tibet. He was married to Khandro Chöying Nyima, who has been reborn as Ngakpa ’ö-Dzin.

Ngakma Nor’dzin is a skilled craftswoman – working particularly as a seamstress and ceramicist.

Ngakpa ’ö-Dzin Tridral

Ngakpa ’ö-Dzin is renowned for his sense of humour and quick wit. His presence among the sangha creates a crispness in the atmosphere – whilst his light-heartedness puts everyone at ease. He is known and loved for his gentle personality and calm presence – qualities revealed in his patience when answering questions.

Ngakpa ’ö-Dzin has worked with computers in various capacities for more than 20 years. He is now project manager in the IT department of Cardiff University. His capacity to work full-time in a demanding profession, whilst still remaining fully available to both his family and his sangha, is inspirational to his students.
