Ordained non-Lama teachers of Aro in robes

Other Aro Teachers

Many Aro programmes are led by ordained teachers who are not Lamas. These teachers have trained intensively with Aro Lamas for at least five years – in most cases considerably longer. They teach under the supervision of their Lamas. They have made permanent vows of service to the Buddhist community and have made meditation practice the centre of their lives.

In the photograph, an assembly of teachers are shown in formal robes, worn when teaching and on ceremonial occasions. Their white skirts symbolise the non-monastic, non-celibate ordination within Tibetan Buddhism.

Most of the teachers on this page and the Aro gTér brevet lamas are available to mentor members in our worldwide mentoring programme.
