Ordained non-Lama teachers of Aro

Other Aro Teachers

Many Aro programmes are led by ordained teachers who are not Lamas. These teachers have trained intensively with Aro Lamas for at least five years – in most cases considerably longer. They teach under the supervision of their Lamas. They have made permanent vows of service to the Buddhist community and have made meditation practice the centre of their lives.

Within the context of apprenticeship, instruction is also given by the non-ordained spouses of Aro Lamas. They will also be present on many public programmes where they can be engaged in conversation. Such spouses are working towards ordination and undergoing specific training within their rôles.

Biographies of the teachers in both these categories can be found here.
